Nocturne Butterflies captures the fleeting beauty of celebration, love and the moments we wish could last longer. A champagne bottle bursts open with an extraordinary release of turquoise, gold, orange and expressive colour, carrying monarch butterflies outward as symbols of freedom, transformation and the precious impermanence of life. Hidden within the dark silhouette of the bottle, two figures lean toward one another, suspended in the intimate moment just before a kiss.
Adding another layer to the work is a hand-drawn musical score inspired by Chopin, delicately written in pencil across the bottle's label. Music, romance and butterflies become intertwined metaphors for experiences that cannot be physically held, only felt, remembered and revisited. Created in Harrison's Motus-realism style, hand painted coconut charcoal dust meets spontaneous acrylic and oil abstraction, transforming the opening of a bottle into a celebration of being alive.
