Madrid-born, Brooklyn-based figurative artist, Juan Miguel Palacio, paints human figures which appear to crumble, drip, and dissolve. Using unusual surfaces like collapsing drywall instead of a canvas, Palacios' intimate paintings focus on the face, capturing complex emotions like mourning, restlessness, and inequality–– emotions which “wound”.
