Through his colorfully confrontational pop portraiture and street artwork, Philadelphia activist and artist Suave Gonzalez proves the political power of art. While serving a 31year prison term, Gonzalez not only taught himself how to paint using acrylic, oil, pen, pencil and other mixed-media (including coffee grounds, glass, and paint chips from the prison walls), but from within prison, he created more than 50 extraordinary murals for the City of Philadelphia through the acclaimed Mural Arts Program.
