“The basis for 99% of my prison meals was ramen. It symbolizes minimal nutrition and minimal expense, since it was the cheapest item in the commissary. Yet, as the noodles themselves were intertwined and bound with one another, ramen also served to connect and hold together relationships with my friends in prison.
