Katie Lokotska

Morton Contemporary has always been proud to support the work of many talented international contemporary artists, including the work of Katie Lokotska, a Ukrainian star who is shining bright at our gallery.

Raised in a family that was sensitive for art and with a penchant for creativity. Kateryna began to study classical drawing, painting and composition at an art school and then studied art for a year in the Art Department of her high school. Later on, she admitted at the National University of her native city and graduated from the Fine Arts Department in 2016. Kateryna is enthusiastic and loves to experiment so as to develop her skills and discover new creative perspectives. Thus, the artist commits to giving a body to the textures and nuances, whether it is with urban landscapes, portraits or floral motifs, in order to produce something that is as luminescent as it is intense.

Lokotska has created a selection of small-scale paintings reminiscent of Philadelphia city life. From the iconic steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art to Boathouse Row, South Street Seaport, and Old City, Lokotska renders familiar scenes that whimsically capture a fleeting moment or memory in time.
