Eric Abrecht

Eric Abrecht is a Baltimore, Maryland-based contemporary artist whose original works have been exhibited in galleries throughout the United States. He completed his formal training at the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore. Working primarily in oil on canvas, Abrecht creates landscape, figurative, and still-life paintings that blend observation with imagination.

He also periodically works in acrylic and mixed media on paper, producing smaller pieces that retain the same atmosphere and painterly sensitivity found in his larger works. Drawing from a lifetime of experience, Abrecht approaches painting conceptually, beginning with a rough idea and allowing each composition to evolve organically on the canvas.
