Ian Bertolucci

"By representing what surrounds me I am able to see and perceive life in a completely different dimension. Even the most seemingly insignificant things are able to convey a lot to us while remaining simple...."    - Ian Bertolucci

Ian Bertolucci, an Italian born and raised POP ART painter, has nurtured his artistic passion from a young age. Ian's journey into the world of art was inspired by his upbringing in the seaside town of Viareggio, where the vibrant and colorful papier-mâché constructions of the annual carnival ignited his desire to create.

As he progressed through life, Ian's passion for painting only grew stronger. His parents' home became a haven for his ever-expanding collection of canvases, a testament to his dedication to the craft. In 2019, he completed his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Carrara, Italy. Shortly thereafter, Ian's online presence catapulted him into the realm of a full-time artist.

Ian Bertolucci's oil paintings are characterized by their rich and vibrant colors, dramatic lighting, and strong contrasts, which together define - almost sculpt - colorful lifelike forms. Rhythm and repetition are fundamental elements of his work.  In Ian's production, some subjects are extremely studied and repeated, almost obsessively. His artistic focus has shifted towards exploring the fluid, reflective, and translucent qualities of every day materials, pushing the boundaries of his creativity. His extensive color palette aims not only to create visual impact but, most importantly, to bring joy to those who view his works. Ian's goal is to evoke a sense of childlike wonder and playfulness, offering the world a lighthearted and joyful perspective through his art.
